One of the most affected areas of Algemesí by the DANA is the Raval neighborhood, where mud accumulates in mountains several meters high and even the walls of some houses have given way to the voracity of the water. The lack of machinery slows down the work in Algemesí and the City Council is already helping those affected to process insurance claims. Both the Military Emergency Unit, UME, and the fire department are working in the town, but the layer of mud is still several centimeters in some areas and the belongings are piled up next to the houses generating bad smell and humidity. This 5-kilometer bus line winds through schools, industrial parks, residential compounds and subway stations, free of charge for all citizens. Autonomous driving buses achieve holographic sensing of the road network through smart sensing devices such as high-definition cameras and radars along the roads. The vehicle-road coordination technology also effectively improves operational safety for the vehicles. That said, each of these buses still has a human supervisor, who would immediately take over the vehicle in case of emergency to further ensure passenger safety. (Xinhua/Huang Zongzhi)
